Scientists still haven't figured out exactly why horses lose the ability to sweat. They do know that no breed, sex or gender of horse is safe, as studies have shown that any adult horse is just as likely as another to develop the inability to sweat. The natural corollary of this is the argument that if a horse is able to ingest and use the proper amount and balance of vitamins and minerals, i.e. chloride, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, etc. every day, then the horse should have the compounds available to allow it to sweat properly.
